Gary and I just want to let
you know that Katie seems to be loving her new home and her new Kitty
"friends". She has settled (and I mean that literally) into a
daily routine, her downstairs bed, her upstairs bed and the various
couches in between. She loves to go for walks (she really likes all the
green fields and the acre of grass she has to patrol) and car rides, (of
course we have put the back seat up and she has a special blanket just for
traveling. Actually, she has a special blanket for almost anything!) Her
warm brown eyes and ability to snuggle close has won our hearts. She has
become very protective of us when we are outdoors-wants to keep an eye on
us all the time. Needless to say, we feel very fortunate to have her in
our family."
Thank you for your assistance in selecting Katie and also for the continuing good works that you do for these wonderful pets.
Katie's Mom decided to go on the road with her husband, so her loving friend of 7 years came to rescue. Katie's Mom shed a rivers of tears over turning Katie in, BUT Katie had a huge tumor (non-maligned), eye lashes requiring a lid lift, and in need of a dental. All this was taken care of by Basset Rescue. We in rescue are always dumbfounded by these people that profess the love of their animals and don't even provide them basic care.
