Jake  Basset Hound

Lance and Jill wanted a basset, they came to Petsmart to look at Jake and fell in love.  We went over for a home visit and Jake stole their heart.  The boys had great time playing with Jake and running him in the field.  In the first couple days Jake taught them that kitty food cannot be within basset range and a few other lessons.  But Jakes totally loveable nature made him a keeper.


Jake is a wonderful typical 2 1/2 year old Basset Boy. This is one great dog, he gets along with the other bassets and is not in the least bit aggressive. He loves to play and play and play with the dogs here, but if it gets rough he leaves. He loves to be cuddled and would be happy as a lap dog. He is good on leash. Doggie Door trained. His previous owners turned him in indicating that "They were not dog people!" About the only thing he needs to learn is not to jump on people
