This wonderful couple, whom I had visited with previously when I was showing basset, came into Petsmart with the intention of providing a retirement home for another older basset. I had Peaches and Walter there. We talked about the two, and they decided that Peaches would be the hardest to find a home for, so it was Peaches, they were going to take. They left the store and about 5 minutes later Walt came back into Petsmart and said that he just couldn't leave his name sake, and they were going to take Walter also. Don't you just love these wonderful people who are willing to share their home and provide a retirement home for these sweet older bassets - THEY ARE VERY SPECIAL!
Walter is wonderful. He is a great looking 9 year old. He has a lot of
white, with wonderful splashes of red - and his white is so soft and
flashy. This great boy loves to go for a walks, to the store, and cuddle
on the sofa with you watching TV. Walter is getting older and a house with
many stairs would not be good for him. Walter is house trained, doggie
door trained, great on a leash, and can even smile at you.
