This wonderful couple, whom I had visited with previously when I was showing basset, came into Petsmart with the intention of providing a retirement home for another older basset. I had Peaches and Walter there. We talked about the two, and they decided that Peaches would be the hardest to find a home for, so it was Peaches, they were going to take. They left the store and about 5 minutes later Walt came back into Petsmart and said that he just couldn't leave his name sake, and they were going to take Walter also. Don't you just love these wonderful people who are willing to share their home and provide a retirement home for these sweet older bassets - THEY ARE VERY SPECIAL! PEACHES is a PEACH. This sweet girl came in so filthy and flea bitten - she looked pathetic. She cleaned up beautifully and what a doll who loves to give gentle kisses. Peaches was picked up as a stray, so we have no history on her. She must have been loved at some time in her life because of her gentle spirit, but her last home sure did not take care of her - she had an untreated eye injury, which is being treated now. This gentle girl would love someone to pamper her - she has so much love to give.
