Max's owner is going to keep him. Dale, Jan's husband adopted Max 5 years ago - they were the best of buddies. Max, sat. napped, and protected Dale all thru this passing. Upon Dales passing he immediately started comforting and protecting Jan. I talked to her daughter up in Colville (who is a dog person) and she said they had been pleading to their Mom to keep Max. Jan moved to Spokane last fall. Max was acting up after the move to Spokane (normal confusion). Long story short - MAX IS WHERE HE BELONGS AND LOVED! Max (Maxie) is an extremely good natured, tri-colored Bassett Hound who loves to be around people. Wonderful around children of all ages (he's been around children from birth to 10 years.) Makes a great companion, loves to follow you around. Totally housebroken. Owner is now widowed and is gone a lot and she feels it is not fair to keep boarding him out, he's such a special dog. She is reluctant to let him go, but feels it is best for Maxie's happiness and well-being.
